Sky (ex-Maker)

Sky, formerly MakerDAO, issues the USDS and DAI stablecoins backed by crypto and real-world assets. Its app offers the Sky Savings Rate, token rewards and upgrades from DAI and MKR, and SKY holders govern the protocol.

Restrictions

• Geo Block: yes. auth service /ip/status -> is_restricted_region -> full-page block 'Access blocked'; the country list is taken from the ToS (not published in code) Blocked countries: Afghanistan, Belarus, Myanmar (Burma), Burundi, Central African Republic, China, Cuba, Congo - Kinshasa, Ethiopia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Hong Kong SAR China, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Nicaragua, Niger, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, United Kingdom, Venezuela, Yemen, Zimbabwe, Crimea and Sevastopol (UA), Donetsk region (DPR) (UA), Kherson region (UA), Luhansk region (LPR) (UA), Zaporizhzhia region (UA).
• Feature Block: yes. api.sky.money/geo-config: per-country modules (savings/rewards/expert); unknown region disables them.
• Wallet screening: yes. auth service /address/status + /address/status/enhanced before a tx (paid provider, unnamed) Where it runs: API. Fail mode: fail-closed.
• VPN / Tor detection: detect. not blocked; VPN/US users must sign the terms on every tx.

Notes

Geo, screening and the ToS signature all go through the auth service (VITE_AUTH_URL). The repo has a skip-auth build used for e2e tests.
